19th-Century Birch Secretary with Intarsia, circa 1840

A secretary desk from around 1840 in birch veneer with black-painted details and intarsia decoration. The fall front opens onto a fitted interior of small drawers and pigeonholes.

Good condition, with wear consistent with age and use and minor structural marks.
